Once the procedure is finished, you will be taken to the recovery area where you will be transferred to a comfortable recliner chair. A nurse will monitor your vital signs, assist in your recovery and assess when you are ready for discharge.
On the day of surgery you will receive post-operative care instructions.
It is imperative that you do not touch the eye and ensure that the dressing remains intact until your follow-up appointment.
Dr Hilford will need to see you the following day and an appointment time will be allocated before you leave. Also note that post-operative appointments are usually at day one, week one and 3 – 4 weeks.
